Kids Can Code is looking for an instructor to join in leading the greatest Kid Coders in a journey of exploration and problem-solving with technology.
This Kids Can Code instructor will lead engaging coding, robotics, and game-design classes, while enthusiastically coaching and encouraging young thinkers.
This position is a part-time venture, mainly in St. Johns County.
Classes are held daily anywhere in the window of 1pm- 4:30pm. Instructors are scheduled approximately 10 hours per week while Special Events Instructor hours can vary depending on demand and promotional opportunity. There is always the opportunity for growth and additional hours.
Responsibilities

Get to know your students! Become their favorite Teacher
Lead after school programs focused on coding, robotics, and game design
Work closely with assistant teacher to create positive learning environment
Instruct Kid Coders with provided curriculum
As familiarity is gained, extend learning outcomes and develop extension or remediation activities
Encourage and nurture positive interactions where students can direct their own learning
Differentiate topics and challenges based on student need and ability
Provide feedback to parents as needed
Promote classes and events through social media advertisement, emails, school partnerships (Perks for this!)
Communicate with Kids Can Code owner regarding operations
Hours: Part Time - opportunity to work up to 5 days a week and apply for Special Events.
Pay Rate: $20-25/hr
Preferred Experience:
Elementary to Middle School Education background (Certified Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Assistant Teachers)
Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care/camp
Works well with others; collaborates with assistant teacher to ensure class success.
Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Be the support for the Lead instructor during after school programs focused on coding, robotics, and game design.
Jumps in to cover lead teacher should emergencies arise.
Familiarize oneself with lessons for each week to assist students in smaller groups or who need additional help.
Encourage and nurture positive interactions where students can direct their own learning.
Provide support to lead teacher when giving feedback to parents as needed
Promote classes and events through social media advertisement, emails, school partnerships (Perks for this!)
Communicate with Kids Can Code owner regarding operations
Hours: Part Time - opportunity to work up to 5 days a week and apply for Special Events.
Pay Rate: $15+/hr

As familiarity is gained, help expand the Kids Can Code brand throughout local area.
Encourage and nurture positive interactions where students can direct their own learning during coding and robotic interactions in school field trips.
Provide support as needed with other teammates who may join special events.
Promote classes and events through social media advertisement, emails, school partnerships (Perks for this!)
Communicate with Kids Can Code owner regarding event success and improvements.
Hours: Part Time/As Needed.
Pay Rate: $100-175/per event
Preferred Experience:
Elementary to Middle School Education background (Certified Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Assistant Teachers)
Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care/camps
Works well with others and collaborates with team.
Some knowledge about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
